Using sitemaps can help search engines pick up on your site more rapidly, and also can help properly categorize it. You can make your own sitemaps, or have someone else do it for you.

Robot Instructions

Things such as Robots.txt and other similar instructionals tell crawlers which pages they should categorize, which they should skip over, as well as other instructions. Many guides exist online that explain how to use these to their full potential. Similarly, using the code “rel=noFollow” also will allow you to remove the advantages your competition has when you link out to their site.

Find out why your business needs a mobile friendly website

There are many marketing tactics that can take your business to new heights of progress, however, when you enter the online realm you need to be aware of the fact that the playing field gets leveled off and therefore, you not only need to be smart about your content but also about your SEO strategy. For a long time now SEO specialists have been emphasizing on the quality of the content and good, researched keywords to get you the traffic that you need, which will eventually turn into profitable conversions. All the same, with Google’s strict and constant updates on its algorithms, these SEO strategies are bound to stay dynamic and rightly so. With the latest Google algorithm that will be effective come April 21st 2015, you may have to rework your SEO strategy if your website hasn’t been optimized for mobile devices.

mobile and responsive website design company

The new algorithm by Google will give more preference to websites that are mobile friendly, thereby giving them an upper hand over those whose websites may not perform the same function. Therefore, from April 21 onward, if you notice a significant drop in your rankings and website statistics, you know exactly what area you need to look into to have the error rectified and get your website the exposure that it deserves. You need to realize a simple fact that in this day and age, where a majority of the world has gone mobile and spends a major part of their time on mobile devices, taking the plunge to get your website optimized for these devices will not only make you a hit with your clients, but with Google as well.

Here are some important reasons why you need to get your website to function well on mobile devices:

1-mobile-websiteMore people have started using mobile devices to access the internet

Over 30 % of the audiences from all over the world prefer accessing the internet through their mobile devices and this number increases exponentially every year. The fact that mobile devices do not confine people to use the internet only when they are at home or in an office environment gives users an immense amount of flexibility and is all thanks to their mobile devices like the smartphones and tablets. This is reason enough for you to look into this matter as most of your conversions could happen while the consumer is on his way to school or work.

2-responsive-designHelps build a stronger brand:

When you have a functional mobile friendly website, visitors tend to find it extremely credible, thus strengthening your brand. When a visitor tries to access a website that has not been optimized for mobile, you will find that he / she will give up and look at competitor sites since such websites take an immense amount of time to load the content and requires the visitor to constantly zoom in an out on the web pages so that the content can be viewed clearly. This can play a negative role in building a connection with the brand and therefore, a consistent and fully functional mobile optimized website will leave a good impression in the minds of the visitors.

3-mobile-friendlyAs a local business, your chances of gaining more visibility are high:

Local businesses that have their websites optimized for mobile devices tend to rank a lot higher in Google’s search engine results’ page, as opposed to local businesses that don’t. As a local business, you may not want to go the extra mile as you already have a host of dedicated and loyal customers who come to you, you need to realize that word of mouth marketing too has its own limitations. A global platform can easily skyrocket your local business into a global one in due time and all you need to reach those heights is hard work along with a simple change of transforming your online presence in a way that will be feasible for the mobile audiences.

4-mobile-friendly-websiteOnly keep content that is necessary:

A mobile friendly website is the most convenient way to give visitors quick access and information about your company, the business that you do and the ethics that you follow. Therefore, just having your mobile website, optimized for mobile devices will do you absolutely no good. What you need to look into in addition to having the website optimized is to optimize the content as well. Therefore, eliminating fluff and having crisp, concise content is important.

5-tablet-ready-websiteGoogle favors websites that are mobile friendly:

Google is constantly updating its algorithms to make sure that only the highest quality of content is delivered to the audiences and therefore, its latest algorithm focuses on ranking only those websites that have a mobile friendly feature.

Google’s new algorithm is set to change the dynamics of website viewing and therefore, if you wish to be on the top of the search engine results page, it is important to visit the Webmaster page (https://www.google.co.uk/webmasters/tools/mobile-friendly/ ) that gives you the analytics of your website telling you if your website is mobile friendly or not and what steps you can take to do so. Besides, you can also visit http://www.mobilephoneemulator.com/ to see what your website would look like on different mobile devices.

Get More Traffic Through Link Building

Have you ever surfed the net and clicked on a link, simply because it looked interesting and relevant to your interests? Of course you have! The reason why links are there is because people will likely want to click on them. Internet marketers are also very well aware of how powerful a well-placed, well-advertised link can be, and that’s why they often promote link building as an important part of any SEO endeavor.

Search engines also take link building and link back as an indicator of success and high quality. Here are some things you should keep in mind when link building.

  • A site that has thousands of sites linking to it, such as Wikipedia, is likely to rank higher than a site that doesn’t have many links as all. If the links come from sites that are relevant to your site, then the amount of emphasis that is put on your site in a positive way is even greater.
  • Similarly, links that feature keywords that you are targeting also tend to fare better on search engines as well.
  • A trusted website, such as one held by a government group, a major nonprofit, a major company, or even an educational facility, tend to get higher rankings regardless. If a highly trusted site promotes your site, then that will also signal to search engines that your site is more likely to be trustworthy. This in turn, promotes your site more heavily.
  • Sadly, trust goes both ways. If you’re unfortunate enough to get submitted into the wrong link directory, you yourself will likely end up getting categorized as spam. Spam sites tend to link to other spam sites, so it does make sense why this would happen.
  • A newer link is favored over an older link.
  • Social media shares, as well as back-links that are traced to social media are often considered to be some of the most potent links you can build.

Seo-Flow-Chart-Blackboard link building methods

Here are some ways that you can build links, get people to link to you, and also get more attention on a whole.

  • Offer to write for blogs, and offer to give content to sites in exchange for links. Banner exchange programs and being a guest blogger is a great way to make sure that you get links from sites that are frequently visited. Even plunking down money to strike up a partnership with a highly regarded site can prove to be highly profitable in SEO.
  • Have content that is prone to become viral. Really funny, fascinating, and informative content will much more likely be shared than content that is lame and hackneyed. High quality content is called “linkbait” for a reason! Good content often will involve funny or unbelievable images, highly informative content on topics of interest, as well as videos.
  • Get your customers to link to you. The more you encourage people to link to your site, the better off you’ll be. Many companies actually hold contests with goodies for people who link to their site for this very reason.
  • Be noteworthy. A site or company that makes waves is one that will likely get more links, more press coverage, and more overall interest. Doing things that help put you in the spotlight will likely bring more links and clicks to your site. Why? Because people will want to see what all the buzz is about!
  • If all else fails, buy links. Bought links don’t have as much pull on search engine ranks as links that are generated by real people. And, to a point, it’s understandable why this is the case. Wouldn’t you rather have a link on your site being promoted to actual people, by actual people? Of course you would! So would search engines!

Ok now let me give you a few places where you can go and set up a few authority properties that will link back to your website:

  1. Social Media PromotionSocial media places: Facebook, , Twitter, Google+, Pintrest, LinkedIn, etc. Another thing that is important to say under this category is that every time you want o post a new article, an image or a video, it will be a good idea if you will share it on all of your social media accounts, to give some authority to that new content that you have created.
  2. Business Directories: Facebook Business, Google Local Business, Yelp, LinkedIn Business, Thumbtack, Bing Local Places, City Search
  3. Create and submit your press release in places like PR Web, Sbwire, News Feed, Buzz Feed
  4. Set up web 2.0 properties and put some content up with a link back to your website. Here are a few of the best web 2.0 websites: WordPress, Blogger blog, Squidoo, Tumbler,
  5. Create a power point presentation and submit the power point presentation to different power point directories.
  6. After you have your power point presentation you can convert it into a video and you can submit it to different video sharing websites like, Youtube, DailyMotion, Vimeo, etc…
  7. Write articles and post them to different article directories.

You can get nice authority back links from all these sources! And the best part is that most of them are free you just need to spend some time to create them and also to create the content.

Links are very important. Start building them if you want to

improve your site’s bottom line!

Keyword Research 101 by SF Website Design

Confused-Businessman-that-needs-to-find-the-right-keywordsWe keep mentioning how important it is to use keywords that will appeal to your audience, but we never have really gotten to the point where we discuss how to choose keywords to post. Well, in this section, that’s all we’re going to talk about. Every well optimized site begins with a little bit of keyword research.

Keyword research is, to a point, largely intuitive for the DIY SEO enthusiast. First, you are going to have to think of keywords that are relevant to your site’s content. Write them down, and then search each keyword or phrase that you come up with on a major search engine. This gives you a good insight into how much competition you have, and also gives you an idea of how hard it will be to score the top rankings for a keyword group. Remember, keywords can be multiple words long.

Test your keywords the right way!

Once you have searched through a number of keywords, buy sample ad campaigns from Google Adwords and similar services. After about 300 clicks, take a look at the impression rate that you have, as well as the conversion rate. By doing this, you can actually figure out the value of each keyword phrase! Some keywords are extremely valuable, and can get you as much as 1 to 2 million visitors a year. So, it makes sense to do your research and pour your efforts into a profitable keyword campaign.

It’s important to also be aware of the fact that many people do not search for the most obvious keywords. In fact, only 30% of all internet searches are for the top search terms. Other terms, especially those that are niche, or that have a commerce-based interest, are much more likely to be very profitable for those who invest the time to rank #1 in them. This is why SEO that is based around search terms for a specific service or store in a location tend to fare so well. Similarly, this is why most SEO experts suggest looking into phrases instead of single words, also known as “long tail searches.”

There are other keyword research tools out there that are worth looking into. Google Insight, Google Adwords’ Keyword Tool, and Microsoft Advertising Intelligence are among some of the most popular keyword research tools out there. When doing your research, it never hurts to have some professional level tools at your fingertips.

Keyword research isn’t only about the value of getting great impressions with keywords, either. Much of the information that is revealed when doing good research also will tell you whether or not the keywords are going to be difficult to trump. With some of the most popular search terms, it’s quite possible that it will take years to overcome the search engine ranking status quo – especially if you’re talking about major brands.

how-to-find-a-good-search-termThe keywords that you choose to work on will end up directly affecting the amount of revenue that your company and site can generate. Good keyword targets, especially keyword strings that are directly related to your site, will likely generate much more traffic and revenue than keywords that could be about a number of
different things. Keeping things specific always is wise when conducting keyword research and targeting your audience.

Is really important to find the right keywords

Conducting good keyword research does take a little bit of effort, as well as some money. Many SEO experts will go so far as to sit and research keywords for a matter of weeks before they make a decision on which keywords they want to primarily target. Taking time to research this is definitely advised for the beginner in SEO.

While you don’t have to take that much time to research keywords, it is important to focus on targeting these keywords before you make a website that is intended for mass audiences. Otherwise, how will you know what content to provide for your audience? How will you know what phrases convert into the highest sales? Without a little knowledge on what works best for you, designing a website is basically like steering a ship that has no sails. It will get you nowhere fast. How To Structure Your Website For SEO – Part 2

This is the second part of the series on how to better structure your site for SEO purposes. The first section was mostly talking about basic layout tips, keyword placement, and how to use your title tag to its maximum advantage. TO see the first part you can read more details over here: Website SEO Part 1. This is all well and good, but you will still need to figure out what keywords you’re going to need to go for, as well as how to use some of the more interesting tools for making your site more noticeable in search engine form.

Metatag OptimizationMeta Tags

Meta tags are a very important part of constructing your page, but not for the reasons that one would think. Meta tags are more commonly used to control the behavior of the crawlers that determine your ranking. They tell the crawlers whether or not a page should be indexed, whether it should be crawled at all, or whether they need to be archived. Other common meta tags are used to control whether or not snippets and descriptions should be collected about the page at hand.

If you want to add a description to your site or an element of it, meta tags can be used to help promote a description that users or crawlers will see. It’s wise to add keywords to your meta tags once in a while, even if crawlers usually don’t use them.

Making A Good URL

Part of having a great site also involves having a URL that is easy enough for people to remember, and easy for people to predict. They are displayed in a multitude of ways, so choosing good URLs that are relevant to your content is crucial. Here’s how to get the most of your URLs.

  • Your URL should reflect what’s going on. A good URL is a predictable URL. So, if you are trying to make a site devoted to pets, have a URL that somehow reflects that. Having a URL that has nothing to do with what your site is about will only throw a wrench in your efforts to gain traffic.
  • Don’t overuse keywords in your URLs. URLs should have a keyword or two in them once in a while. However, overusing them can end up causing your site to trigger a reaction in spam filters, and totally negate your ability to get posted on search engine rankings.
  • Static URLs are better. There are programs that turn number-based URLs into more human-friendly URLs. It’s worth doing.
  • Think like a user when putting together a URL. You want to have a URL that is very easy to remember, or easy for a person to understand. You want a memorable URL that’s also readable. Hyphenating URLs can make them more readable. Shorter URLs with catchy names are easier to remember.

Optimize your original contentThe Importance of Good, Original Content

Search engines love good quality content that is 100% original, and they actively seek out providers of fresh content in order to get better search results quality. Many major search engines will actually weed out sites that have duplicate content, or low quality content. To avoid accidentally getting duplicate content on your pages, linking pages with different versions of the same content to the same URL can help prevent getting penalized. This is called canonicalization.

Scraper Websites?!? wHAT is ThaT?

Scrapers are sites that steal quality content and spin it to make it their own – or even just cut and paste it into their sites! To avoid being mistaken for a scraper site, it’s important to ping Google and other search engines when you first submit your content. To further prevent scrapers from getting your content, you can also implement absolute links instead of the typical relative links that make it easy for scraper software to snag content.

Should your content be very high profile and very popular, it will be very likely that people will start to try to steal it by many other means. When this happens, there are a number of ways to prevent theft from continuing. Some of these methods include DMCA warning letters, actually reaching out to the site owners, or in certain cases, actually mentioning it to Google.

When doing any sort of web design that is involved as search engine optimization, it’s crucial to remember that content is king. So, keep your content interesting, full, and fresh – and above all, protect your content from those who want to steal it.

How To Structure Your Website For On-Page SEO – Part 1

Much of the important aspects of search engine optimization hinge on the content of your website – not how many people have visited the site itself. In order to get the most out of your SEO work, you will need to structure your website and build content that makes search engine algorithms more likely to promote your site in the search engine rankings. This guide will give you a step by step method on how to make your site as SEO-friendly as possible.

website-optimizationThe Title Tag

The title tag is what basically gives your site a title, and it’s the first thing that web crawlers pick up on. Use a good title that is unique and filled with descriptive keywords to maximize the website display space in Google search.

A good example of content for a title tag is as follows:

Welcome To Fat Loss Central! Site Of LA’s Most Popular Workout Center!

A bad example of content for a title tag is as follows:

Weight Loss

Meta Description

This is I think the second most important thing after the title tag, that can help you in ranking your webpage. Make sure when you write the description for your content, you will include your main keyword and additional keywords that you are trying to rank for. Google will display only up to 156 characters in the search results. Make sure everything that is important is listed within the first 156 characters.

Keyword Usage

Keyword usage on your site is the only way that a search engine can figure out what to categorize your site as, and whether or not it’s relevant enough to rank correctly. So, you will have to use keywords that people who would want to look at your site would search for. Figuring out which keywords to use can be intuitive at times, but also can be done with several apps and services that are found online. Experts suggest trying at least 3 or 4 different keywords, or phrases, that people are likely to search for when looking for your site.

It is important to add keywords to your site’s verbal content. For example, if you are a site that focuses on plumbing, have a small paragraph that talks about plumbing. The order of the keywords also counts when crawlers are determining relevancy, so make sure that you have the right order for your site’s ranking. When adding descriptions to your photos, Javascript apps, and similar features, make sure to add one or two keywords to the descriptions as well.

Keyword Abuse

There is such a thing as “too much of a good thing,” especially when it comes to using keywords. Stuffing keywords into every single aspect of your page might have worked 15 years ago, but it will likely do more harm than good. Ideally, keywords would be used in reasonable amounts throughout the page. When you have keywords that are being used in unnatural ways, keywords being stuffed into every meta tag, every link title, and every other sentence of the page, crawlers will assume that your page is meant to spam users. (And to a point, they would kinda be right.)

Adding keywords that have nothing to do with the page’s content also can lead to search engines citing your site as a keyword abuser.

website-keyword-researchTips For On-Page Optimization

Here’s how you can use keywords wisely while avoiding the chance of being a keyword abuser.

  • Use the keyword once in your title tag. Once is enough!
  • Your content does need keywords, too, and there is a right way to go about it. Use your keyword once near the top of the page, and then about 3 times throughout the rest of the page. When dropping your keywords, it’s alright and even suggested to use variations of your keywords that you are trying to rank. If you are posting a longer blog post, using keywords and their variations more than 3 times is acceptable. Use your common sense.
  • Alt descriptions need keywords, too. When adding descriptions of your images, make sure to include the keyword at least once. This can often lead to great image search results, which in turn can lead to even more traffic.
  • URLs need keywords, but only once. Don’t overdo it. It’s more important to keep URLs shorter than it is to stuff them with keywords and extra phrases.
  • Meta description is another place that you need to add some keywords that are relevant to the keywords that you are trying to rank. Be careful because the meta description is one of the elements that will displayed in the Google search results below the title tag. This means that your description needs to be compelling and with relevant keywords. Having a compelling and informative description can increase the traffic to your website!
  • While META tags are not used by crawlers, many SEO experts highly suggest using a keyword in them once, simply because it’s the page description that users see. Hey, it doesn’t hurt!
  • Remember that the main goal of your site isn’t always getting crawlers to pick up on your site, but to deliver a good user experience to people who visit your site. A good user experience will result in a better search engine ranking in the long term, anyway. This is because good user experiences will lead to more revisits, which in turn is picked up by search engines.

Great SEO should not be too hard to achieve, at least, not when it comes to your page’s layout. The next section will continue to expound on some of the most important elements of good web design, and how they all will influence your search engine ranking in the long and short term.

Why You Need To Have Your Site Optimized For Users And For Search Engine Robots

human-website-readersDid you ever wonder what makes a site truly successful on the internet? The truth is that having a successful website is a fine balancing act between pleasing two opposing parties. In order to get the most traffic and the best conversion rates for your company, you will need to make sure that your website is optimized for search engine crawlers, but still make it user friendly enough for the people who actually click on the links and visit the site.  We have already gone over why it’s important to have a site that has been optimized for search engines (read article here), but we haven’t gone over why it’s important to strive for a more human balance. This section will explain why in detail.

In many cases, especially when you use old school SEO techniques, it’s easy to please search engine crawlers and get loads of hits…at the expense of your users’ experience. Common SEO tactics can cause a site to be overclogged with walls of text filled with keywords, too many links, and too many updates on social media.

This can easily overwhelm users who just want to look for simple information on your company’s home page. Too many links, or a confusing site layout that is built for SEO crawlers instead of actual people, can detract from a user’s experience. Similarly, a site that has too many SEO widgets installed might end up loading very slowly, which in turn, may aggravate users. Working to get crawlers to pay attention to your site and promote it at the cost of user experience, will likely lead to loads of little problems with the site’s usability.

returning-visitors-for-your-websiteGet returning visitors to your website!

These little things may seem like minor issues at first glance, but as the old saying goes, everything counts in large amounts. Site users who have negative experiences with a particular website are less likely to visit it in the future, and way less likely to recommend it to a friend. Poor quality sites will almost always be overtaken by sites that focus on a more human-oriented approach to site optimization. Moreover, having a low quality site that doesn’t really cater to human visitors is also linked to having lower sales conversion rates, and a generally poor internet presence. Worse still, having a poor online presence will also influence buyers to buy from competitor stores, even if the sale is done face-to-face. Is having a (temporarily) highly ranked site really worth sacrificing your own customers? We don’t believe so.

Create quality content for your website

Along with the fact that people will not likely enjoy your site if it’s optimized only for crawlers and not for human beings, there are many, many indicators that suggest that the internet search engines are going to increase their focus on user experience as the years continue to pass. Much of this trend can be seen in Google’s recent overhaul of its entire search engine algorithm. By scrapping the heavy emphasis on keywords, and promoting the importance of social media, Google clearly made a stance that they are looking for quality content for users instead of quality content for crawlers.

The future of search engine algorithms will be one which is driven by content quality and popularity among people – not the number of keywords that are jammed into a company’s main home page. Even with the trend just emerging, it has had a profound effect on a multitude of well known sites. Many major sites have taken a huge hit in search engine rankings with the new overhaul, so one can only imagine what the wrong focus can do to a budding website.

seo-website-teqniques Always optimize your content

However, as important as a human focus is to any website, it’s also still important to incorporate SEO into your site’s development. After all, if you don’t get crawlers to examine your site, you will not likely end up getting any visitors to marvel at how wonderful your site is.

The vast majority of traffic that any site receives is gotten through search engines. After all, when you’re searching for a local business or looking for a question, don’t you simply search the internet most of the time? Making an impression on search engine indexers, therefore, is still a priority that needs to be addressed by any webmaster with aspirations of having a popular site.

The bottom line is that you do have to walk a very fine line between pleasing people and pleasing search engines. Instead of the heavy handed approach to SEO that site owners were once expected to have, it’s now much more advisable to have it be a very gentle, very subtle push in many respects. And, since algorithms have changed to make it a much more user-friendly world out there, it’s easy enough to have a decent balance between the two without upsetting engine crawlers too much.

What Is A Search Engine, And How Do They Work?

search engineGet more information about Search Engines

One of the most common terms you’ll hear being thrown around internet forums dedicated to SEO is the term “Search Engine Optimization”. Even if you are a total newbie to the net, you have most likely already used a search engine, and have likely been using them for years. Search engines are sites that allow us to search for keywords on the net, and return results in a nice, organized way. Based on the file type we can filter if we want to see videos, pictures, audio, power point presentation, and other files types. Some major search engine sites include Google.com, Yahoo.com, and Bing.com. Other fringe website engines exist, but they tend to be less well known than the major ones.

website-addresswwW. whaT internet address?

Prior to search engines, it was nearly impossible to discover a website without knowing the address of the site beforehand. The entire purpose of search engines is to make it possible for people to find the things that they are looking for on the net without forcing them to memorize millions of internet addresses. Sites like Google not only categorize pages by the topics that they are about, but also categorize them by popularity.

The more popular and more high quality a website has been proven to be, the more likely it is to show up on search results that are related to the content that is on the site. Nowadays you can have a website address that is starting with www. or without www. It is up to the site owner preferences if he want’s or not the www. version.

website optimizationWhat is search term?!?

Search terms are also known as keywords, and they are the backbone of search engine result categorization. Websites that are considered to be the most relevant to the search terms that you enter are the ones in the top 5 slots on the first page. These get the vast majority of the traffic that one can receive by search engine for that term. Sites that are less relevant to a series of keywords will end up on a lower results rung. After a certain point, many website engines will simply return slightly relevant sites as results.

Most people never will see those sites, simply because of how lowly ranked they are. In Google, when you usually search for a term you will also get local listings. Those listings must be set up, and claimed by the local business owner in order to get listed in the Google local directory.

spider-crawlerCrawlers / Indexing Service

The way that they do this is by using an indexing service to include the site on search engine results, and then using special robots called site crawlers to pick up on keywords and other similar things to properly categorize them. Crawlers regularly visit websites in order to make sure that the content doesn’t change too drastically, and to also make sure that their categorization is accurate. Crawlers pick up on a variety of different things, such as keyword placement, and the title of the page. They use this to determine what your site is really all about.

You can use Google Webmaster Tools, to see if your website gets crawl correctly, and you will also get notified if there is any problem when google bots is crawling your website or if you have any 404 errors, or any other type of crawling/linking error.

website relevancyHow we decide the relevancy

But, how, one wonders, does a search engine decide which sites are the most relevant, and which sites deserve the top ranking? How does a engine decide which sites are total bunk, and are just too low quality to count in a search index? The answer is that search engines use a special mathematical formula called an algorithm to decide all that. The algorithm combines a large number of factors to decide what site deserves the top ranking.

Because search engines are always trying to provide better and better content for users, algorithms are prone to change. In some cases in the past, the entire older algorithms for major web engines were scrapped, and a new algorithm, complete with new programming, was put in its place. There’s no saying that this won’t happen in the future again.

keyword-stuffingPut a stop on Keyword Stuffing !

Originally, most seo algorithms only counted two or three factors, putting the most emphasis on the number of times a keyword would appear on a page and the number of directories that have linked to said site. This caused many major sites to become keyword-stuffed messes that really detracted from a person’s overall experience while browsing the net using search engines. Since then, search engines have implemented other signs of a site’s quality and relevance to their algorithms that make the entire process of deciding a page’s rank more involved and quality-based.

Some of the new things that have been added include filters that help prevent sites that are overuse keywords for the sake of getting a higher rank, filters that make note of site pages that have been submitted to blacklisted directories, as well as sites that contain malware. Newer algorithms also are more likely to focus on things like social media shares, discussion of said website by others, as well as your overall internet presence.

seo optimization recapRecap!

Basically, search engines are what make the internet as popular and as powerful as it is, and it’s through a search engine’s crawlers and unique algorithms that we are able to see the pages that we see when we search something up online. They are the biggest provider of organic traffic for sites of every genre, so it’s important to make sure that your website is good to go with most search engines. Google is currently the biggest search engine on the market today.

How To Use Social Media To Promote Your Website

social media promotionSocial media is not only for trendy teens anymore, and it’s becoming one of the biggest driving forces of organic traffic to major websites. In recent years, social media has not only caused major booms in companies that were once ailing and struggling to get customer attention, but also has caused major downfalls in companies that once were much more popular than they currently are.

Watch the video below to get a better understanding in how to promote your website and your business.

Among many portions of society, a successful social media campaign adds a certain level of legitimacy to your company. Some won’t even buy from a company that doesn’t have a social media campaign, which is yet another reason why social media is now king. What we are trying to say here is that you need to have a good social-media campaign in order to get ahead. Here are some tips for every beginner.

1) Get a Facebook, Google Plus, Twitter, Tumblr, InstagramPintrest and LinkedIn, account for your business. These are often considered to be the basic building blocks of a strong social media campaign. You will need to fill out all your basic information on these sites, and also add some cool photos related to your business as part of your profile. Each profile should also have your company’s contact information. It makes you a lot easier to reach out to.

2) Start putting together a schedule of times when you update each account. Different social media platforms peak at different times. You can use programs like Facebook analytics to figure out when people are checking out your posts. Truth be told, though, the most important thing that you need to remember is that regular postings will make things more consistent for your customers, and that tends to keep your name in their mind longer. Customers that see a profile that is not very consistent will likely end up seeing you as unprofessional, or just not that into reaching out to them.

3) Begin posting content that is social media friendly websites. Most social media experts suggest an 80/20 rule when it comes to posting your content.

80% of your content should be related to your business or your industry.

– The other 20% should be fun and random, mainly because that’s what gets many shares on sites like Facebook and Tumblr. It’s important to remember how important it is that you continue to post. Without posting, your social media campaign will go nowhere.

4) Reach out to customers, and add them on any social media platform that allows it. This is part of engaging your customers through social media. Other ways to engage them include offering cool contests, answering comments and questions they may have about your services, and also just posting photos of them having fun at your venue. You want to shoot for as many new adds and followers as you can get per day.

5) While you are reaching out to your customers, it’s crucial to remember who your customers are. A company that caters to mothers in their 30s is not going to have the same kind of posts, or even promote their campaign, in the same way that a company that caters to young teens will.

social media network6) Remember that part of having a successful social media campaign is using tact. You do not want to make comments or posts that may upset or marginalize your customers in one way or another. Common sense and a little bit of etiquette will help you continue to post great content and build a better campaign. Even if you end up with hecklers on your site, it’s important to handle these things with grace. Otherwise, you will end up with a major PR problem on your hands.

7) It’s important to also make an effort to team up with others who are successful in the socialmedia realm. Much like hanging out with the cool crowd in high school, social media success is one of those things that rubs off on you. Offering to post for popular blogs, and even paying others to promote your social media campaign is a good way to help get more followers.

8) In order to get the most oomph in your campaign, you will need to make sure that many, if not most, of your postings have some sort of call to action to visit your websites. People need to be told to visit your site in order for them to really visit it frequently. More people viewing your site will equal to a higher conversion rate when it comes to sales.

9) Lastly, remember that every socialmedia campaign has to be adequately maintained in order for it to be successful. Without regular posts and the occasional image update, having a social media campaign for your website will not do too much good.

So if you want to be successful with your business you need to start promoting your business on different media websites. Create and share content to as many sources as you can we recommend you to start and get familiar with Facebook, Twitter and Google plus and go from there. Also if you provide services or sell products you need to try to make your clients to leave you a review for the service or product that was provided, it will help you in a long run.
